Luna is an interactive stress ball that produces generative motion visuals. It is designed for a childrens treatment room at Central Manchester University Hospital’s Sexual Assault Referral Centre (SARC). The work was commissioned by Lime Art.

The aim of the product is to engage the child in a calming and relaxing way whilst undergoing a medical examination.

This interactive artwork was commissioned for the new Royal Manchester Childrens' Hospital. The work breathes (blue) in default, the average breath rate of a human being.

When interacted with the sculpture takes and then projects the heart rate (red). Infrared sensors around the sculpture when broken, create different colour and sequence patterns. The piece becomes a clock for five minutes on the hour. Textblue technology sends an information text to phones within a 30m
radius.

Conceived of as the 'heart and lungs' of the hospital and created by Andrew Small and Steven Almond, with many fantastic collaborators, including Lime Arts (see website).
